Little River Orchard (est. 2016) is a family-owned seasonal U-Pick orchard nestled in the scenic mountain town of Mentone, Alabama. Known for exceptional tree-ripened apples, fresh produce, beautiful flowers, and family-friendly farm experiences, Little River Orchard welcomes visitors from across Northeast Alabama, Northwest Georgia, and Southeast Tennessee for memorable day trips throughout the growing season.
Unlike grocery store apples that are often picked before they are fully ripe and finished in storage, our apples are allowed to ripen naturally on the tree. The result is peak flavor, crisp texture, and incredible juiciness that simply can’t be matched by store-bought fruit. Many visitors tell us that once they’ve tasted a tree-ripened apple, grocery store apples never satisfy them again.
U-Pick Apples All Season Long
From June through October, visitors can pick tree-ripened fruit from 11 different apple varieties that mature throughout the season. Every visit offers something new as different varieties reach peak ripeness.
Honeycrisp apples are our most popular variety and a major reason guests visit the orchard each year. During our Honeycrisp Apple Festival in mid-August, visitors can enjoy perfectly ripe Honeycrisp and Daybreak Fuji apples fresh from the trees.
Later in the season, during our Pumpkin Festival in late September, guests can pick additional favorites including Galarina, Winecrisp, and Fuji apples.
