Little River Orchard (est 2016) is a small family-owned u-pick orchard located in the beautiful mountain town of Mentone, Alabama. Pick apples, blackberries, cut flowers, as well as sweet corn, tomatoes, watermelons, ornamental corn and pumpkins as they ripen throughout the year. We are a seasonal agritourism business that starts in June and ends in October of each year. Our honeycrisp apple festival in mid-August and pumpkin festival in late-September are awesome events that include local farm vendors and food trucks.
Little River Orchard grows 12 apple varieties that ripen consecutively from late June (Pristine) through October (Pink Lady), so you don’t have to wait for a festival. Blackberries are generally available from June until August and cut-flowers can be harvested starting in July. Little River Orchard is an exciting family day trip from Huntsville, Chattanooga, Birmingham, or Rome/Cartersville. In 2026, we plan to open an on-farm store, expand our playground, and add farm animals. We have lots of great activities for families and friends to enjoy throughout the season including a huge Apple Jump-Pad and an Apple Cannon Range. The apple cannon range has cool steel targets like sasquatch, UGA the bulldog, zombies, and black bears.
